Differetiate among all three

paoladelarosa @ 16:12

Now it is your chance to prove how much you have learned about the three kinds of clauses.

Go to the following sites:

http://www.dailygrammar.com/emails/Quiz%20276-280.htm

http://www.arts.uottawa.ca/writcent/hypergrammar/rvnaacls.html

After going through the sites, do the following:

  • Open MS Word
  • Write nine sentences with dependent clauses.
  • Underline the dependent clauses with the hihglighting tool.
  • Write the kind of clause it is with italics below each sentence.
  • Save the file with your name
  • send it to my e-mail address.  My e-mail is in the CORREO part of the blog.

Noun Clauses

paoladelarosa @ 15:56

Noun clauses act in the same way other nouns act.  They can act as the subject of a sentence, predicate nominate, direct object, indirect object, object of the preposition, and appositive or appositive phrase.  They usually have a subordinating conjunction that introduces them.

Go to the following sites to learn more about noun clauses.

Adverb Clauses

paoladelarosa @ 15:22

Adverb clauses act in the same way that adverbs function. They describe verbs, adverbs, or adjectives.  They answer the questions how?, where?, when?, why?, and to what extent?

Go to the following sites to learn more  about adverb clauses.

Adjective Clauses

paoladelarosa @ 08:21

Adjective clauses describe nouns or pronouns in the sentence in the same way that any adjective or adjective phrase does.  An adjective clause answers the questions  which one? what kind? how much? or how many?

Throughout the week we will be learning about types of dependent clauses: adjective clauses, adverb clauses, and noun clauses.

Have fun learning about the kinds of clauses by clicking on each day of the week in the categories section.

Each day you will have to write a summary of what you learned regarding clauses by writing a comment on the ESCRIBIR COMENTARIOS section.
